About me

Since I’m not the writer in the “family” I will leave this part to the professionals, to that special someone who will became a extraordinary and famous writer and will take me to all those book signing things to meet cute writers:

Since the end of 2007, I’m the most recent pair of high heels walking around the beautiful streets of Madrid, armed with a camera in one hand and a Vogue (my bible) and a “café solo” in the other.

This blog is meant to show you all a bit of my new life, as I start to get to know it too. All you have to know is that, even though I’m all alone here in Madrid, I’m not lonely. My friends are always with me and now, as you’re reading this, so are you. So I thought I should let you know some stuff about who I am. I love shoes (in case the way I started this text didn’t give you a hint) and fashion in general. When I’m not at work, I’m probably watching a movie or reading a book – my other two passions. And speaking of those, LOTR are the four letters you should have in mind. I could go on and on about it for hours but maybe another time…

I also love mushrooms (with anything) and chocolates (no, not with mushrooms). And Bon Jovi and airports and coffee and New York and photography and Paris. I love cooking for my friends (yes, something with mushrooms) and throw nice parties. I hate my hair, I hate surprises and I hate packing. I could also live without people that seem to enjoy wasting your time talking about nothing. Oh and I have a sentence. Yes, a sentence. “That’s just stupid” – it’s my way of ending a conversation when I don’t agree with someone and don’t want to spend another minute arguing. I know it’s all sounding pretty random but I guess that’s just how life is.

Here’s the thing. Reading this “About me” is not going to make you know me. But don’t feel bad. Not many people do. I know lots of different people but I only have a handful of friends – but those are friends for life. And they’re basically the reason why I started this blog. From one year to another, life changed more than any of us could expect it to. Some of them are still in Portugal but others, like me, decided it was time to go. H. is living in London since 2005, D. is studying in Coventry and V. started her life in New Zealand. As for me, Madrid is only the beginning of the rest of my life.
