New way of reading the paper

There is a brand new way to read the newspaper, one I never tried before, one I probably never will. And it’s the last thing you need to see after a long work day, but this country is crazy, everything!!There was a man reading one folded newspaper sheet lying on the floor, and singing along! Tell me isn’t this crazy? Or it’s just me?

I see it first on FTV

I’m completely addicted to Fashion TV, I didn’t had the channel in Portugal, but I want it and now the little time I have to watch tv, or it’s a movie on the DVD or Fashion TV. And now they’re making the cover of Milan Fashion Week Autumn-Winter, even worse. Cavalli, Armani, D&G, Blugirl, Prada, La Perla, Moschino, are just a few.And now I leave you with some of the trends:  00460m.jpg00200m.jpg00120m.jpg00080m.jpg00040m.jpg

I don’t get so much mail, why?

Something strange I picked up the other day while watching a movie. Why is that people in the movies, weither is a girl or a boy, a business man or a cleaning lady, young or old, living alone or with other people, when they get home have like 200 letters on the mail box, even if they came home every night, why is that?

It’s the end of the world

  Take a look

2008, The Year

2008, the year of great movies. Each year I say it’s going to be the greatest year in terms of movies, but this time it’s for real, I really believe this is The Year, don’t you agree?? Want to know why? Check this out: Indiana Jones (that I have talked before), Iron Man (the trailer speaks for itself), The Incredible Hulk (were Edward Norton plays Bruce Banner/The Hulk), The Dark Knight (the infamous last Ledger movie), Rightteous Kill (Robert DeNiro and Al PAcino face off once again), Speed Racer (the new Wachowski brothers thing), Valkyrie (really curious about Tom Cruise), WALL-E (latest Pixar flick), Star Trek (for the fans), Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia (for the kids, but not only), James Bond: Quantun  of Solace (another fricky title) and last but not least, for me the most important, the one I would fly to the end of the world to see: Sex and the City, The Movie.

I’m really excited about this one, if it was up to me, the tv serie wouldn’t end, I simply love the characters, the city, the wardrobe (wow), the story, absolutely everything, and so far the images I’ve seen were not disappointing.

But this is not the only one, James Bond, I’m very curious and since I’ve read one of the besta actors of all time is making an appearence, I’m even more curious, Al Pacino is in it. Fantastic, huh??

All we have to do is wait for the real thing and see if we are not desappointed again. Anything you’re hoping to see that I haven’t mentioned?

Indiana is back

For years I’ve been listening about the new Indiana Jones, but this is the year we finally get to see it. I have to say I liked, it’s entertainment, it’s funny, it’s clever, it’s Ford. My personal favorite it’s the third, because of Sean Connery, of course, and I was really sad he was not going to be on this movie. Even so, I hope the movie will be good, check it out i little sneak peek on the new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (a little misterious this title, no?)

Bad news

I’m not a religious person, but I’ve praying for this not to happenand yet it’s true: Bon Jovi in Rock in Rio Lisboa.

Weird stuff

Something I just had to share. Barajas Airport is the biggest airport I know, you walk and walk and walk, having the feeling you walking your way to Madrid, but now it’s also the weirdest.

I was in the bathroom, minding my own business, zipping up, getting ready to flush, when the toilet flushes itself and you get the fright of your life. For people who hate to fly, getting scared right before entering the plane it’s not a very good idea, but this is not a country with the brightest ideas in the world.

Consider youself advised!

Just scary

I’m very much pro culture, and I think we occidentals have no right to force our culture on no one’s life, but there also some traditions that just make me wonder, where’s the line between tradition, culture and pure stupidity? I do believe that this is one of the most unfair, barbaric, savage and stupid tradition that exists in the world, but even when most people do agree with me:

“140 milhões de meninas e mulheres já foram submetidas à mutilação genital feminina” (“140 millions of girls and women have been submitted to feminine genital mutilation”)

This number in not just casual tradition, it’s almost female genocide and I know this is a strong word, but this is a strong and mean tradition that has to be stopped.
